GGSKC V Brampton - 13/05/2019

GGSKC 60-1  (9 overs) vs Brampton  59-5 (16 overs) 13/5/19

In our second game of the competition, GGSKC recorded a victory in what was also our first home fixture of the year.

Brampton won the coin toss and opted to bat first. It was apparent from the first over that Brampton was not very strong. GGSKC restricting them to singles at best.

With accurate bowling and tight fielding GGSKC held Brampton to 59 from 16 overs.

Vrisin bowled 4 overs, giving away 16 runs and taking 1 wicket. Keerthan bowled 3 overs, giving away 7 runs and taking 3 wickets. Niranjan bowled 3 overs, giving away14 runs. Sai bowled 3 overs, giving away 9 runs. Jai bowled 2 overs, giving away 8 runs and taking 1 wicket. Jeet bowled 1 over, giving away 4 runs.

So the target of 59 was set to be beaten and GGSKC did just that in only 9 overs out of the possible 16.

As mentioned before, Brampton was not very strong and this reflected in their bowling also. With many extras coming from wide balls bowled, GGSKC soon tallied up 60. Sai and Vrisin opened and had time to pick their shots. A rear opportunity to practice shots in a competitive game. They worked well, running the singles, but a slight indecisive decision from Sai allowed Brampton to stump him when he was out of his crease. A lesson he will learn from. Sai made three singles and one double, taking his tally to 5. In stepped Niranjan.

Niranjan and Vrishin stayed in until the target was beaten. They built up a good partnership, running the singles and hitting boundaries. The game ended with Vrisin making three singles, one double and one boundary for four and not out., taking his tally to to 9.Niranjan made seven singles, one triple and one boundary for four and not out, taking his tally to 14.

That makes it two in two for the Green cup squad.
